FAQ - Do a show

What is the Community programming initiative?
In the Community Programming Initiative (CPI), you pay to use the radio airwaves and streaming video to promote your stuff. We produce and distribute the shows. You show up with something to talk about.
How much is it and what does it include?
$250 for a 25-minute show. You sit down, we adjust the lighting, sound, cameras and background, and then a professional interviewer talks with you about your business or organization.
Where does my show get distributed?
Radio for your car
Facebook Live for your car
Amazon, Apple TV and Roku for your living room

It's true multimedia. Your one show goes to several places.

Audio - WJOB AM 1230, FM 104.7, TuneIn app, WJOBNetwork.com
Video - Facebook Live, Amazon, Apple TV, Roku, WJOBNetwork.com.

You can share the video to your Facebook page, Twitter, YouTube, etc. If you want to use the audio or video of your show for other purposes, we can provide you with a thumb drive of the content.
WHEN can I do a show?
8am-2pm. Typically, shows 8-10am are live in video and on the radio. Shows 10am-3pm are live in video and get replayed on radio in the evening and other times.
how do i sign up?
Debbie Wargo at Debbie@wjob1230.com or 219-844-1230 will walk you through the process. Most clients pay by check or credit card.
When does the show get replayed?
CPI shows play in the evening and on weekends. Your show, or parts of it, may play several times on AM and FM radio.
Why join the CPI?
It's a new world. It is not enough to advertise next to other people's content. You also need to produce your own content. We make this easy with the Community Programming Initiative. CPI shows are great for populating your social media and website.

What does it mean to advertise on WJOB?
We are a family-owned and run media company. When you join us, yoiu become part of the WJOB family. Your spots play next to the content that we produce - on the radio and in video. Hosts talk you up. You can advertise on our daily programming or on sports or both.
how much is it?
Spots are $30 for a 30-second spot, with a five-spot minimum per week. Many clients advertise with Club 149, which gives you at least five drive-time spots per week. You also receive many bonus spots at other times during the week.
How do I get the spot recorded?
You can send us bullet points or a flyer and we will write, record and produce your spot. We will email you the spot for your approval. If you would like to voice your own spot, we can schedule a time for you to come in and record a spot. You can also send us a pre-recorded spot.
How many weeks do i have to commit to?
We require a four week minimum with the first four week payment upfront with either credit card or check.  After that we will invoice you monthly or you can provide your credit card to be automatically charged each month.
Can I cancel?
You can cancel with two weeks notice anytime after the initial four weeks. You can also request a long-term contract of up to one year.
Does WJOB purchase ratings?
We do not purchase ratings, nor have we in our 95-year history. Ratings are made out of Chicago are expensive. We spend our money and resources on making great local content to serve northwest Indiana and the south suburbs.
how far does the station reach?
Our AM station can be heard by roughly 3,000,000 people. The FM station is less than that. Streaming audio on the TuneIn app is often listened to by people on the edges of our signal range. Our Facebook Live video is viewed mostly in the Calumet Region, as is our video on Roku, Amazon and Apple TV. We are seeing increasing numbers in other parts of the country with our streaming video, especially when we have a nationally-recognized guest or topic.
